Phone Home, 2017
Phone Home is an interactive, mixed-media sound installation featuring seven interactive phone booths, each programmed with a soundscape that speaks to different interpretations of home and the technologies we use to communicate with those spaces. Inspired by the legacy of Black Radical thought-leaders, and moved by the imagining of a liberated Black future, Phone Home affirms radical self-care and creative courage as tools for personal and collective liberation. Phone Home debuted at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center in Austin, Texas in 2017. During its run, the installation activated a Pop-Up Community Music Festival, and various creative gatherings for young people and the local community. Read more about Phone Home Fest HERE.
